Yin Yoga

Yin yoga is characterized by poses supported by props (blanket, block, bolster). To differentiate it from a restorative class, yin will get deep into the soft tissue of the body. It's less restful, and geared more towards a functional release of deep muscle tissue.

Yin Yoga & Meditation

Experience deep quiet in the body and mind through Yin yoga. Yin yoga is a different approach to yoga asana. It is less about doing and more about being and feeling. Poses are held for extended periods of time using props such as blocks and bolsters to experience a shift in the fascial layer of the body. The fascia is where emotion, experience and memory are stored in the physical body. Yin yoga is not restorative yoga. Yin yoga is designed to bring you to your edge where you will practice stillness, observation, and suspension of judgement. The practice concludes with meditation. We will learn and practice many different styles of meditation, so each week may offer a different style of meditation. Come with an open mind to experience a different way of moving and holding your body in space.
