I'm happy to be returning to Anamaya Resort to lead a week's yoga retreat in paradise. Anamaya is truly magical. Atop a cliff, just above the tree line canopy, with views of the Pacific Ocean, rain forest, and wide open sky, Anamaya eases you into a state of ease, relaxation, and enjoyment of the simple pleasures in life. The retreat center is designed to help you relax completely. There is no noise pollution. There is no light pollution. There is a ozonated pool, infrared sauna, and two yoga decks for movement and body therapy. World class clean-eating recipes made daily by the skilled chefs, locally grown, organic food and two yoga classes a day will clean your body and energy. Special workshops and additional activites are available as you like (waterfall hike, surfing, horseback riding, salsa class, etc). There's a world class spa with massage therapists and healers, and the resort staff are some of the nicest, most supportive people you'll ever meet. Guest Yoga Teacher Lola Rephann

Lola’s teaching is a call to meet your edge. She asks her students to challenge the body-mind intelligently by asking them to observe the manifestations of the true self and the conditioned self. Lola weaves a psychological, physical, or spiritual thread of inquiry into her classes and workshops, and often asks students to observe all three layers of experience during their practice.

One of Lola’s gifts is that people feel comfortable in her presence. Her students feel safe to to be seen, to drop shields, and to reveal themselves. She is able to help people see and feel what is possible, to reclaim forgotten or ignored parts of themselves, and to initiate healing in a very natural way: simply by reclaiming the parts of ourselves that we long for and desire the most. Lola is honored to work with people in such an intimate and personal way.

Lola studies Forrest Yoga, Yin Yoga, hatha/vinyasa yoga and the intersection of yoga and functional movement. Lola is also a practicing bodyworker using the modalities of Thai Yoga Massage, Myo-Fascial Meridian Release and Reiki. She has been studying Thai Massage for over 7 years and has her Level 3 Reiki Master certification from Olympic Mountain Earth Wisdom Circle. Some of her interests that often inform her classes include astrology, earth magic, ceremony, ritual, moon cycles, and animal totems.

Lola has been practicing yoga for over 20 years. She has a deep and abiding interest in breath, mindfulness, and somatics. Lola studies primarily with Ana Forrest, founder of Forrest Yoga, Erica Mather, a Forrest Yoga guardian in New York City and Corina Benner of Philadelphia, PA. Lola was raised in the traditional lineage of Sivananda Yoga before moving into vinyasa and more contemporary yoga studies. Lola is a lifelong student and is always learning new techniques, methods, and applications for healing, wellness and vitality.

Lola is an e-RYT with over 2,500 hours of teaching experience privately, in group classes, and in corporate settings throughout New York City and New Jersey. She has assisted Ana Forrest and Forrest Yoga Guardians at the national level, leads a yearly retreat to Costa Rica, and is developing a YouTube channel.

I practice and teach yoga for healing, self-exploration, and growth. Yoga is the most effective tool for healing and personal transformation I have ever encountered. My teaching guides you into a state of feeling, connection, and experiencing yourself as you truly are. When we recognize our true nature, we transcend stress, tension, anxiety and confusion. In the moment, we glimpse our essential selves and our connection to all living things. As we heal individually, we begin to heal the collective.

I teach Forrest Yoga, a breath-based, mindful approach to vinyasa yoga designed to go deep into cellular tissue thru long-held and challenging pose sequences. Forrest Yoga excels at healing trauma and disconnection, building strength, and nurturing a state of embodiment. I also teach alignment-oriented vinyasa yoga, a practice designed to help students become more aware by finding correct alignment in the yoga poses, which helps prana (vital energy) circulate thru the body-mind. Lately I have been infusing my teaching with functional movement exercises that build strength and challenge the body. Challenging ourselves physically is necessary to reclaim vitality and self-confidence. The daily morning practices will be informed by these approaches.

The evening sessions will be a combination of Yin Yoga (a practice of long-held poses designed to target the fascia, or connective tissue, of the body), gentle Hatha yoga, and meditation. The fascia is where we store emotional as well as physical trauma, and true healing must address these deep layers of cellular tissue.

This retreat will focus on emotional and energetic healing and release, building strength in body, mind, and spirit, and self-discovery, all while having fun and super-charging your existing yoga practice. Each practice will have a clear intention so that over the course of the week, you will practice seeing and setting small attainable goals for yourself while designing a larger intention that will serve as a guiding principle for your ongoing personal development.
